About Us

Representing Our Industry

NABIP - NC is the State Chapter of the National Association of Benefits and Insurance Professionals (NABIP). NABIP - NC proudly serves as a direct resource of fact-based information for the general public, employers, policymakers, and others who are concerned about healthcare and health insurance in North Carolina.

We assist employers, employees, individuals & those enrolled or enrolling in Medicare. Our agents and brokers uniquely understand the healthcare challenges that North Carolinians face each day. Our organization represents the voice of all those needing and purchasing health care in North Carolina. We work with both State and Federal legislators on the need to expand healthcare access in North Carolina and we help employers, employees and individuals navigate the myriad of complex healthcare solutions available.

History

The National Association of Benefits and Insurance Professionals, formerly known as National Association of Heath Underwriters, was formed during the Great Depression in 1930 and today represents over 100,000 licensed agents and brokers who all have a shared mission of improving the ability of healthcare consumers to access the most affordable, comprehensive solutions available.

In 1980, NABIP recognized a need for greater consumer education and advocacy, including education of health insurance coverage options and how wellness can aide in the affordability of that coverage. NABIP agents have since been organized and committed to providing this outreach, education and advocacy on behalf of all healthcare consumers in America.

Mission

NABIP - NC will improve its members ability to meet the health, financial and retirement security needs of all North Carolinians through education, advocacy, legislation and professional development.

Vision

Empowering all North Carolinians with accessible solutions for their health, financial, and retirement needs, delivered through the expertise of insurance professionals.
